Poking my head inside her Vilcabamba tienda, I called out in broken Spanish, “Orfa, when you next prepare humitas, please call me so I can watch you make them.” She had recently brought up a plate of humitas to our apartment and we had devoured them rápidamente!  Sí, sí, no problema, she assured me.

Delirious Euphoria Of Eternal Life

Post image for Delirious Euphoria Of Eternal Life

by Viktoria Vidali on June 25, 2014

in Quotations

I was tied to life and bound to death, tied to time and bound to eternity, tied to my limits and bound to infinity, tied to the Earth and bound to the stars. Joined to my parents, my grandparents, my ancestors, united with my children, my grandchildren, my future descendants, joined to every animal, every plant, every conscious being.

United with matter in all its forms, I was mud, diamond, gold, lead, lava, rock, cloud, magnetic field, electric spark, soil, hurricane, ocean, feather. I was anchored in the human and joined to the divine. Rooted in the present, united with the past and the future. Anchored in darkness, united with light. Tied to pain, joined to the delirious euphoria of eternal life. ~ Alejandro Jodorowsky

The True Source of Joy

Post image for The True Source of Joy

by Viktoria Vidali on November 17, 2013

in Quotations

The true source of joy is love – love of God, love of beauty, love of wisdom, love of another human being, it does not matter which. It is all one love: a joyful awareness of dissolving boundaries of our ordinary narrow self, of being one with the reality beyond, of being made whole. ~ Irma Zaleski, from the essay The Door To Joy.
