Beyond The Divide

Infinite chasms
Between one and the other,
Sister, brother.
Between us and them,
Between all we want and how things are.
Terrible voids to abide
It’s an art
To live beyond the divide.

Closer, closer than any imagined distances
There is a light on the place at which we stand
Shining always, here, now.
But how we look beyond
And how we glance below
And how we miss the brilliance and the glow.

Know this:
The greatest divide is but a thought apart
From an open heart.
There is no far, there is no near
Beyond the divide.
