Palo Santo Marron

Without hesitation I’ll confess that I enjoy an ice cold beer on a hot afternoon. While at Santana Row in San Jose this week, my husband and I stopped for lunch at Left Bank Brasserie where Palo Santo Marron, a limited release of Dogfish Head Alehouse, was the day’s featured beverage. We decided to give it a swig and weren’t disappointed. Actually, that’s a rather reserved way to say that it qualifies as one of the best brews we’ve ever tasted.

An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. The caramel and vanilla complexity unique to this beer comes from the exotic Paraguayan Palo Santo wood from which these tanks were crafted.

Incidentally, a dogfish is a shark, hence the logo.

It’s 11 in the morning and a cold beer sounds good right about now – does that say something? ;)

Will check it out!
