Also called tulip trees, Japanese magnolias, saucer magnolias, and Oriental magnolias, Soulangiana are Spring’s early calling card, assuring the winter-weary that those dark, cold days will soon be over.

Soulangiana are a cross between magnolia deundata and magnolia liliiflora, both from China. The Chinese have a wonderful name for this magnolia: Yingchunhua, which means “welcoming Spring flower.”

Bursting forth from bare, gray limbs into an abundance of pink, light-purple, and white blossoms, Soulangiana trees are one of Nature’s splendorous reminders of hope and renewal.

This month’s featured image ~ SOULANGIANA ~ is available as a 8″ x 10″ photographic print for $20. Professionally processed with a luminous, iridescent finish. Free shipping.
